User Research
Before putting pixels on a screen, I dove into understanding the life of long-haul truck drivers in Canada. Initially, I gathered information on logistics companies’ forums, YouTube vlogs from truckers, Reddit threads.
To get deeper understanding, we connected with few drivers & Industry dispatchers to uncover:
Where the current systems fail them - whether in communication, transparency, or support
What drivers’ mental model looks like during a trip
How we can reduce their dependency on paperwork
Which important parameters they want to know during a trip
User Statements
“I reached the location, and then they told me the drop-off point had changed. It’s nearby, but I wish they told me earlier.”
“I just want the app to be simple. I don’t have time for complex stuff.”
“Breakdowns are part of the job — what’s hard is getting help fast.”
“I often arrive, but the loading bay or workers aren’t ready.”

Working between driver needs, dispatcher tools, and industry payment process taught me that multi-user ecosystems require carefully aligned designs, not isolated feature building.
Mobile UI Must be Ultra-Simplified for In-Transit Users
Drivers interact with the app while on the move or during quick stops.
Micro-interactions, bold CTAs, large tap areas, and minimizing cognitive load became non-negotiable.
